What independent physical security consulting actually means

An independent physical security consultant works for the owner, not the integrator or the vendor. TSG Labs sells no equipment and has no preferred platform relationships. The design recommendation reflects what the facility actually needs. That is different from what an integrator who earns margin on equipment and installation will recommend.

When to bring in independent advisory

Before the RFP goes out is the highest-value point. Platform-neutral requirements development before the procurement process starts produces comparable responses and gives the evaluation committee an objective basis for selection. Before equipment is ordered is still useful. During installation, owner's representative services catch problems before they become commissioning failures. Post-installation troubleshooting is available, but the earlier an independent review happens, the more it changes the outcome.
